Churchill Alemao Accused of Sheltering Rohit - Home Minister Orders Probe

Panaji, Oct 21: Amidst allegations that Congress minister Churchill Alemao is giving shelter to Rohit Monserratte, son of education minister Atanasio Monserratte, who is charged of raping a minor girl, the state home minister Ravi Naik on Tuesday October 21 asked the police to probe the leads.
 
"We have a lead that Rohit has been given shelter by Alemao in south Goa and has been guarded by his men," Aires Rodrigues, a lawyer representing German mother, told a news conference on Tuesday.
 
Rohit has been accused of raping a minor German girl and since then he has been missing.
 
Rodrigues said that Monserratte's cabinet colleagues are colluding with him to protect his son, who is involved in the grave crime.
 
Home minister Ravi Naik, however, has said that he has asked the director general of police B S Brar to probe into the allegations of Rohit taking shelter at Alemao's hide out in south Goa.
 
"I have made it ample clear that the law is for everyone. Police are asked to cross-check whether rumours about Rohit are fact or just wild guess," Naik said.
