Dubai: SFX Mudarangady Celebrates Anniversary in Style

Dubai, oct 26: SFX Kutam – Dubai, an association of Mudarangadi Parishioners residing in the UAE organized the annual family get-together on Friday October 24.

The response was overwhelming as more than 120 parishioners, relatives and friends gathered at Winney's Restaurant, Karama for a fun filled event. The celebrations started at 12 noon sharp. It was a wonderful family gathering for everyone as they got together for some fun, entertainment and fellowship.

Leena Bai led the prayer followed by hymn "Amchya St Francis Savera" and a unique welcome dance by baby Calida.
 
Anil Prakash D'souza, the President of the Association welcomed the gathering and gave a glimpse of the life of St Francis Xavier. In his key welcome note he highlighted the Association's objective of uniting all the parishioners under one roof and also extending the ever helping hand to the needy back home. He also highlighted the challenges ahead and the importance of members support in achieving the association's objectives.

Secretary Janet Sequeira presented the annual report and highlighted the achievement of SFX Kutam with an overview of the work undertaken by the association during the year.
 
Varieties of games and entertainment programs were conducted. Initially the gathering was divided into 3 teams viz Santhoor, Maniyoor and Yellur and various games were conducted between these three teams.

Allinson Aranha, Calida, Gavin, Seema and Sonali danced to the tunes of some beautiful Hindi numbers.  Solo dance by Andria D'souza the winner of "Jodi No. 1" and a solo dance from Mrs. Saritha Dsouza, a local talent were the centers of attraction and were highly appreciated.


























The local talent from Mudarangadi, Asha Fernandes who marched into the finals of "Gulf Voice of Mangalore" from Dubai was felicitated by the association by calling her "Mudarangdichi Keer". Association thanked her for making Mudarangadi proud through her singing talent.

At the same time, Dony Correa, the runner-up of "Gulf Voice of Mangalore" was also felicitated. Both of them enthralled the audience with their voice and well sung favorite songs truly left the audience spellbound.
 
Wilma D'souza, Nandalike of daijiworld.com was the guest of honour.

Another special attraction being a Konkani song sung by Sandeep, Vinod, James, Santhosh & Leslie recalling the good old days and remembering some of the famous personalities of Mudarangadi. "Mudrangdiso Mando" by the same team supported by the Music Maestro Canute Mathias was a real treat to the audience.

Leslie, Johnson, James, Prakash and Asha entertained the audience with their skits.





Vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice President, Johnson D'silva who thanked the gathering for making this event a successful one.
 
The programme was compered by Anil Prakash D'souza.
 
A sumptuous lunch was served. 
 
The very well-organized and successful programme ended at 4.30 pm
