Panaji, Oct 29: The fate of the case pending against Fiona Mackeown, mother of British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling, in the state's authority will be decided on Wednesday October 29.

On Wednesday, state director of child and women development will take the final decision, on the application filed by local NGO against Fiona.

The NGO – Utt Goenkara – had accused Fiona of neglecting her child on her February Goa trip, which is an offence under section 8 (1), 8(2) and 8 (12) of Goa Children's Act, 2003.

Fiona's minor daughter was allegedly drugged, raped and left to die on a beach on February 18. The NGO has said that the minor girl was left with another person by Fiona, while she was holidaying at Gokarna in Karnataka.

Fiona was given the last chance to appear before the director on October 14 which she failed.

State child and women development director Sanjiv Gadkar in his earlier order had said that if Fiona does not appear before him he would proceed against her in accordance with law.

The state police have already submitted to the High Court that they will conduct an inquiry into the complaint filed by Utt Goenkara.
