Kuwait: A K Ravindra Elected President of Tulu Koota

Kuwait, Nov 28: TKK’s humble and able member with fame ‘Tulu Koota Pili’ A.K.Ravindra elected as president for the year 2009. He was an active and popular part of cultural activities of TKK after his superhit ‘Pili Vesha Show’ during one of the ‘Tulu Parba’ held during the initial years of its existence.
Tulu koota Kuwait held its annual general meeting at Don Bosco School Auditorium- Salmiya on Friday 28th November 2008 to elect the new committee for the year 2009.
The annual general meeting started with devotional song by Usha praveen followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the outgoing management committee members along with President Sathishchandra Shetty. Later, the general secretary Dheeraj Shetty presented annual report on the activities organized during the year 2008, and the annual financial report was presented by Tulukoota Kuwait treasurer Mark Pinto.
The election of the new management committee was conducted very smoothly by the returning officer Vivek Rao. The management committee members being elected unanimously are A.K.Ravindra as president, Swarna C Shetty as vice-president, Sathya Narayana Salian as general secretary, Freeda Rodrigues as joint secretary, Mark Pinto as treasurer, Vishweshwara Karkala as internal auditor, Suresh Salian as culture secretary, Ramesh Kidiyoor as sports secretary, Mohammed Iqbal as welfare officer and Monthu D’Souza as public relations officer.
The newly elected members were invited for their self introduction. President A.K.Ravindra in his speech expressed his thanks to the outgoing committee members for making Tulukoota Kuwait as successful as it is today. He welcomed the newly elected members of the management committee and assured that they aimed to continue the good work in networking, enriching and bonding the rich culture and people of Tulunadu.
The cultural activities presented by Tulukoota Kuwait child artists, volunteers and visiting artist Praveen Kumar of ‘Nrithya Vidya Nilaya- Mangalore’enthralled the audience. Tasty dinner served by Oriental Restaurant was perfectly enjoyed by the attendees. The programme was beautifully hosted by Shobha Bandari.
