Dubai: Countdown Time for Tulu Parba - 'Mr World' Arrives

Dubai, Dec 2: Some of the leading expatriate tulunad  personalities are being honoured at the colourful TULU PARBHA taking place on friday 5th Dec. at the Al Nasr Leisureland.

Veteran of Dubai and one of the staunchest supporters of all tulu activities from Mangalore and nearby areas,

Jayanand Kunder has been an asset to Tulu Koota with his never ending services.  His advice has been sought by everyone when tulu cultural activities are concerned.

Radio Spice owner Herman Lewis is yet another personality who is being honoured for his efforts to promote tulu, kannada and konkani through his radio. 

One of the most popular websites around is Daijiworld who have been instrumental in bringing the latest news to most expatriates direct to their homes and offices and the founder Walter Nandalike is also getting his due appreciation and honour at the Tulu Parbha celebrations.  Daijiworld have also been the official website for the event. 

Shekhar Shetty of Arab Udupi Hotel is  a Dubai old timer having rendered great service to the tulu expatriates in the U.A.E.   Although camera shy, Shekhar has been behind plenty of community work in his own way which has been liked by many. He was the  of Karnataka Rajyotsava award for the year 2007.

Apart from these local expats, former 'MR. WORLD' Raymond D'Souza has been specially invited from Mangalore as the Main Guest to be given special accolades and honours in recognition of his achievements and being one of the most famous sons from the tulu speaking community.

Tickets for the 'TULU PARBHA' are already sold out and those at the celebrations are assured of a rich and colourful entertainment starting from 3 p.m. onwards that included pure tulu musical melodies, skits, dances, yakshagan and tableau which will be the finale of the night.

 

All roads will lead to the Al Nasr Leisureland on Friday 5th Dec. when the much awaited “Tulu Parba” celebrations take place starting from 3 pm onwards.

Most of the tickets have already been sold out when one knows that there is so much to see and enjoy where all the tulu speaking community irrespective of race or religion will congregate for an evening full of fun.

Raymond D'Souza who won the "MR. WORLD" title in Japan in 1990 arrived today to take part in the TULU PARBA celebrations taking place at the Al Nasri Leisureland on friday Dec.5 starting at 3 pm

Raymond, looking fit as ever, was received by the organisers and his well wishers at the Dubai airport.  He is  the Main Guest on friday where he will be honoured by the Tulu Koota.   All those at the programme can get a glimpse of India's super man and sees his beautiful body which he is expected to exhibit also during the evening.  Raymond has won several titles in India and other parts of the world also including the prestigious MR. WORLD title.

Tulu Parba celebrations including a variety entertainment programme that will also include tulu musical entertainment, dances, skits, games stall and the most attractive tableau from various tulu expatriate communities that will be the highlight of the night.  Several local personalities will also be honoured durng the programme.

Almost all the tulu speaking communities from the coastal towns of Karnataka especially will be there in numbers to witness the colourful programme.

Convener C.R. Shetty of Tulu Koota is the man behind all the action and his team of supporters have ensured that everything special from Mangalore and surrounding areas will be plenty in abundance.  Shetty has been involved in so many tulu and kannada activities in Dubai for the last so many years. 

There are plenty of interesting stalls with Mangalore’s famous flowers “Mallige” available and also the thirst quenching coconuts available.  The coconut breaking contest and also the innovative Grand Prix car race are planned at the stalls.  That apart, the music lovers can be assured of non stop tulu hit numbers by the music group “Waves of Love” spearheaded by composer-cum-singer Vincent Fernandes Cascia.  Apart from Vincent, well known Don Correa and Asha Correa will also lend their famed voices.  Compere Uttam Menezes has stockpiled some tulu jokes as he takes the crowd along during the evening. 

There will be other entertainment also where the tulu expatriate children will showcase their talent in singing, dancing and other mind pleasing acts.   To top up the evening, there will be at least 8 tableaus with different cultural themes of tulunad which will be a delight for the onlookers. The cultural treasures of  Mangalore especially are historical as well as very memorable.  The style and sentiments of the old world values will be on display as the expatriates try to enact whatever they can on the stage in their own ways. 
 
However, apart from all other entertainment the “Tulu Parba” organisers have picked a favourite son of theirs and invited him to be a star guest when former “Mr. World” Raymond D’Souza will be honoured for bringing glory not only to himself but also to the country.  Raymond is also expected to display his beautiful body during the evening.  Raymond will be flying in from Mangalore for a grand reception.

All in all, it promises to be a feast for the eyes and a joy for everyone as every tulu expatriate gets a rare opportunity for such a great get-together with a cultural character and colour.
