Udupi, Dec 4: The local unit of the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) staged a protest at th Sayyed Arabi Jumma mosque, Ucchila, near here, on Thursday December 4,  condemning the attempt to plant explosives inside the compound of the mosque in the wee hours of Thursday.

Accused Uday

The locality of Ucchila remained tense on Thursday, following the incident. The accused, Uday, hailing from UP, who was arrested by the police, had confessed that he wanted to create tension in the locality by digging the concrete inside the mosque complex to lay the explosives.

KFD activists alleged that it was an attempt to create communal disharmony in the locality and urged the police to provide adequate security to all mosques in the district.

KFD district president Abdul Rehman, secretary Jafrulla Hoode, Kaup zonal president Abubakar, JDS district president Deviprasad Shetty, Congress leader M P Moidinabba, mosque committee president Abdul Razak, J K Syedali, and Ummer Farouq, were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, police interrogation revealed that Uday (35) is of unsound mind and was not involved in any such crimes in the past. Uday will be subjected to a medical check-up on Friday December 5. He was sent to police custody till Friday, by a judge.

Additional superintendent of police M N Nagaraj, Karkala deputy superintendent of police, Santoshkumar and Kaup circle inspector Chelvaraj, are investigating this case.

I dont understand the motive of these people. Why this fellow has to come to South Kanara to plant Bombs ??? They have already spoiled their state and they want to spoil our state also !!! Please keep an eye on outsiders residing in villages !!! If you see the news of such bombs or terrorists, most of them who were caught in Karnataka are outsiders. They keep their states comparatively free from terror!! They want their families to stay peacefully and disturb others family life. This is not acceptable us anyway !!!

This is not a big issue. Protest can be done but none will have much interest in taking relevant action. Only if blast takes place like in the case of mumbai, then this place would be spotlighted on all national news channels with all the leaders and media in and around CONSOLING and INVESTIGATING.
