Abu Dhabi: KCO Gears Up for Cultural Day - 2009

Abu Dhabi, Jan 13: Stage is now set for the holding of KCO's (Konkani Cultural Organization) maiden cultural day - 2009. The event will be held at Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) Auditorium in Abu Dhabi, on Friday January 16 from 11.00 am onwards.
According to Leo Rodrigues, president of KCO, the day will be absolutely entertaining with quite a number of well-known artistes from within UAE taking part in various events that go with the legendary names like Francis Fernandes Casia who would perform short comedy dramas after a very long time in Abu Dhabi, that includes "PIDESTACHO BNGOSTOL".
The Heritage Music Group - Dubai, led by the famous music composer and lead guitarist Alwyn Mendonca, will be performing some popular Konkani numbers along with some of the well known singers of Abu Dhabi, like Rene Lobo and Rupert Vaz. Additionally, there will also be musical entertainment by the Konkani Prayer Group, and the traditional 'Manddo' in Konkani as the concluding event.

To cheer the people, KCO has also planned a number of skits by the famous artistes of Kemmannu Flowers and the UAE St Mary's Welfare Association Shirva.
Under the Kids category, there will be dance performances from Gavin Rodrigues, the gulf edition finalist of the 'Boogie Woogie - 2008', whose dancing skills will ensure that the eyes of the viewers stay glued to the dais.

While DJ Rudy Borges will doubly ensure to keep the people on their toes with his latest and old music numbers, Reena Pinto the compere of the show confirms that she would keep the crowd smiling to her witty comments.
