Bantwal, Aug 24: ‘Harmony club' and NSS unit of Carmel College Modankap recently organised ‘aatidonji dina’ programme a the college auditorium.
Ln Vasantha Kumar Shetty Lions Club II vice governor 317 D was the chief guest.
The inauguration of the programme was done by spreading an arecanut bud as it symbolizes seeking of blessings for the auspicious ceremony in Tulu culture. In his address, Ln Vasantha Kumar Shetty emphasized the significance of various food items and the food culture of the monsoon season. He further stated the medicinal aspects present during the season and mentioned that the significance of the monsoon season must be made aware to the student community.
Principal, Sr Dr Latha AC presided over the programme. Vice principal, Florine Menezes, Harmony Club co-ordinator, Bhavitha, NSS co-ordinator, Bhavitha were present.
Cultural programme representing the importance of the day was presented by the students. Monsoon food varieties were presented and served at the end of the programme.
