Mangaluru: Sesquicentennial celebration of Mahatma Gandhi held at Carmel School

Mangaluru, Oct 2: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, various competitions were held at Carmel School like Fancy Dress, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Poetry Writing, Elocution, Pencil Sketching and drawing of a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

The winners were awarded certificates.

An exhibition of books on Mahatma Gandhi was held.

The students of class IX and X actively participated in a cleanliness drive in and around the school campus. On October 2, a programme was held by the students of class 2A and 5A at the school auditorium which began with lighting a lamp followed by a prayer service.



Various inspiring experiences of Mahatma Gandhi were depicted on stage.

Teacher Deepthi enlightened the students on values and principles taught by Mahatma Gandhi.

The programme was compered by Naineeta Vasudara, Ciona Sanjeev, Shazia and Ifra.

Shreyash welcomed the gathering and Yash proposed the vote of thanks.

The principal Sr Sarika, administrator, Sr Rose Agnes paid a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
