Udupi, Sep 5: The 150th birth anniversary of Guru Narayana Swami was celebrated with fervour across the district by the people regardless of caste, creed and religion.
Guru Narayan Jayanti was celebrated at Sri Vishwanat temple, Katpady, Billava Sangh at Kaup, Uchhil, Mudarangady, Mulur, Yellur, Shirva and other localities.
Thousands of devotees from Billava community and others regardless of caste, creed and religion joined in the celebrations of Guru Narayan Jayanti. Thus a large gathering of devotees attended the celebrations.
Various puja, Bhajan, cultural and religious programmes including free food offering was held at the occasion of Guru Narayan Jayanti all over the district.
