IRSDC launches 4 new facilities at Anand Vihar station

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS): The Railways on Wednesday inaugurated four new passenger amenities at Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station, including 'Dava Dost', a generic medicine shop offering upto 80 per cent discount on medicines.

The new facilities were inaugurated by Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Ltd (IRSDC) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer S.K. Lohia and will maximise passenger satisfaction and experience at the railway station.

The IRSDC said that the aim of the 'Dava Dost', is to provide high quality medicines to passengers at affordable rates by assuring substantial savings.

"This firm is currently having 10 stores across Rajasthan and Delhi and plans to widen its reach extensively," the IRSDC said.

Besides the Dava Dost, the IRSDC also inaugurated 'The New Shop', which is a Department of Promotion for Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recognised innovative retail technology start-up in India.

According to the IRSDC, The New Shop sources unique and authentic consumer products from Indian start-ups and MSMEs around the country and sells them through its stores. The company uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to understand and predict consumer behaviour and also provides real time tracking of sales.
