Miss India is ‘Beauty with a purpose’
“I’m speechless at the moment, I don’t know what to say,” exclaimed an excited and emotional Pooja Chopra as she won the title of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’.
An injured yet determined Pooja, who came on the stage wearing a cast, was supporting the ‘Save the girl child’ initiative. The Indian beauty queen met with an accident and twisted her ankle just two days before the pageant night. She looked stunning in a white gown as she posed gracefully on the stage.
‘Beauty with a Purpose’ was an initiative launched by Julia Morley, the President of the Miss World Organization, more than 25 years ago to support those in the most need.

The dance of cultures...
It was for the first time in the history of Miss World beauty pageant that apart from the regular introduction of the beauty queens, they were also given a chance to present their culture to the world with a stint of their national dance.
The participants set the stage on fire clad in their national costumes as they danced their way on their National tunes.
