Mangalore: Sri Rama Sene Calls for Karnataka Bundh

Mangalore:  Sri Rama Sene Calls for Karnataka Bundh
Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore / Udupi, Feb 13: The citizens of the state will have to bear with the agony for another day, as Sri Rama Sene has called for a statewide bandh on Saturday February 13, in protest against the incident in which ink was smeared on the face of their leader, Pramod Mutalik. In a separate release, the district unit of the Sene has requested the merchants, owners of buses, autos and the general public, to respond to the bandh call and make it a success. Sene’s convener, Prasad Attavar, said on Friday night that it has decided to extend the city bandh on Saturday, in protest against the police action in continuing to detain him since Friday morning.

File Picture

The bandh comes in the wake of various incidents in which vehicles and properties were damaged, and the Congress activists in retaliation, burnt buses and damaged other properties at various places. Unlike the bandh in the city called on Friday, the bandh call given today has evoked almost total response. The streets in the city and elsewhere in the district are wearing a deserted look. Only a handful buses were seen moving, perhaps because of the fact that the bus owners have turned jittery, after some of the buses were damaged by stone-pelting mobs on Friday. Schools have declared a holiday today, while banks and other establishments are functioning.

Early morning on Saturday, some miscreants threw stones at the residence of Oscar Fernandes in Udupi, giving rise to tensions in the area. Movement of vehicles came to a grinding halt on the road after the incident. The house of former minister, Vasant Salian, in Kaup was also targetted with stones by unknown mischief mongers today morning. In this incident, window panes of Salian's house and a Scorpio car parked therein, were damaged.

Vasant V Salian's house, Kaup

District superintendent of police, A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, has said that those who have called for the bandh will be held responsible for the loss to the properties if any, during this period, while Sri Rama Sene has been maintaining that the district administration would be responsible for untoward incidents that might occur during the bandh period.

The SRS and BD are not Hindus. Only human beings can belong to a religion. Those who believe in violence as a means or as an end as the BD and SRS believe, are neither Hindus nor humans, nor animals(Why demean the poor animals?) I have always had deep respect for all religions especially Hinduism and I have several Hindu friends who are deeply religious and i have joined them in religious worship... Nagesh Nayak, are you a sympathiser of the BD/SRS or are you actively in their ranks, I will hope for your conversion...... as a human being and a good Hindu.

IGP Hosue and SP A.S Rao both responsible for the unwanted things happened in Mangalore. These IPS officers are enjoying life in Mangalore with tax payers money. But the tax payers have live with the threat every day.The Bus owners are always worried of broken windows although they pay permit charges for these bundh days. Why the SP has not ordered the arrest of Prasad Attavar and the other Sene activists in Mangalore. It is shame for the police to guard the house of Oscar who always use minimum police security during his visits to Mangalore.

Rather than blaming and arguing and creating a scene out of this issue, why can't one try to spread a word of peace and encouragement so the weak and poor can be justified. Are we making this world more insecure to our own people ? then what about our people getting brutally killed abroad ? So freinds, let's have a meaningful and peaceful valentine's day in a true sense and not by extravaganza or violent attacks.

Dear Mr.Nagesh Nayak, just wanted to know whether the australians ask the religion before attacking the Indian hindus and spare the ones of other religions even if they are Indians.. Till now I was under the impression that it was racism based on colour and nationality.. Never thought it would have been based on religion..

Well said Fr. Melwin Pinto. Now, Kageri is sleeping. He has no guts to utter a word against trouble makers. Ms. Lydia Lobo, your fitting reply is sufficient to keep a joker (I am sure all the readers knows who is a great Joker in 'Daiji' discussion board) shut his mouth. I appreciate your comments. Days are not very far Mangalore will become worst than Afghanistan due to BJPs rule. If the Centre do not intervene now, Mangalore will go to Chakkas of RS.

Regarding Naagu Maamu's (Joker's) question on attack on Hindus in Australia - Why these Hindus wants to go to that country despite attacks on them ? Isn't it because they feel more comfortable there than in India ? Biharis were attacked in Mumbai by Shiv sena activists. Joker, pls. tell me...Biharis are not Hindus or have you lost your mind completely seing the total failure of your BJP ?

Hey Nageshanna, If last year (attack on girls) that incident would not happend, then this year no one would have bothered to attack on Muthalik. Who is provoking peace loving people in Karanataka??? and think who are involving to creating of Goondas.?? If no one is hurting you, then are you mad to go and attck on others?? Same way Congress people did. Thats all. So think twice, thrice or still not getting it keep quiet.

hi Lydia Lobo, Kadri, we are always giving due respect to women. you guys are always having in mind about pub attack. In india every day atrocities on women , accidents, murders, etcc are happenning. you psuedos are never bothered . why you guys are not raising your voice against NANDIGRAM (WEST BENGAL) WHERE womens are raped & murdered by your left friends. why you keeping mum on Delhi tandoor case where your congress leader involed. All electronic & print media are against bjp, srs,ss,bd, becoz they were controlled & financed by non bjp.srs,ss,bd . In kerala a case recently opened that a nun was murdered by a priest. There are lacs of incidents about atocities on women happenning in India. SRS main aim is to stop all these. but unfortunatley they are only blamed. jai ho.

Nagesh Nayak, You were a great supporter of farmers when the price of the milk was in the rising because it benefited the cow-owning farmers. Here - this helps the farmers too - quote "Valentine's Day again gladdens the hearts of thousands of flower growers of Himachal Pradesh as roses and carnations that bloom in the cool climes are much sought after by lovers. "The rose and carnation buds cultivated in the hill state are in great demand in most north Indian cities round the year," state horticulture department assistant floriculturist B.S. Guleria told IANS. But there is a huge spike in demand just before Valentine's Day Feb 14. Unquote - now, I expect you to support farmers by campaigning for 'Valentines day'

Very sad to read about distruction of public property. No body with a little common sense will do the kind of work being done by these people. We are independent at the cost of others weakness and sufferings. That is all. Pray to God the almighty to give them all the wisdom to realise what they do and achieve. Throwing stone at a soft body is no heroism. One should have the guts to be hit back by his own stone. Then only this misery will stop.

The Government, especially the minister of Education, Mr. Kageri, wanted to initiate an action against the Christian Institutions that closed for a day, last August, to protest the violence in Orissa. If he or the Govt.is not partisan, let them initiate an action against the SRS for disrupting the normalcy in the state, especially the education of several students whose exams had to be postponed as a result of their mindless bundh... I am sure the Government has no guts...

Year after year Karnataka is becoming a state of lawlessness and disorder resulting from a failure of government. What are we achieving? If we did have good roads, decent power etc. i would tolerate this rubbish from this govt. These guys are making issues out of nothing and it's like Mangalore is dying and we are watching it live. Sad though. I think of leaders like Subhash Chandra Bose who fought for the country.
