Mangalore : Three of a Family...Three Generations...Perished in Air Crash Tragedy

Mangalore, May 25: Many families lost multiple members of the family in the tragic air crash at Mangalore International Airport on Saturday.   With the tragedy snatching away the lives of Prabhavathi Karkera (68), her daughter Ashitha Bolar (50) and her son Akshay Bolar (17) one member each of three generations has been wiped out leaving the family in a state of shock, anguish and turmoil.

Prabhavati, Ashitha and Akshay

Ashitha Bolar was on her way to Mangalore along with mother Prabhavati and son Akshay Bolar.  Akshay had recently completed his PUC and was heading to Mangalore to get admitted to one of the colleges in Mangalore.  But before they could land on the soil of Mangalore they bid goodbye to the life on earth sending the entire family and friends in a state of mourning.

Ashita and her husband Prakash Bolar were working in the gulf for the last 25 years.   They have a daughter Pooja Bolar (23) who also works in Dubai.  In fact even Pooja was supposed to accompany her mother and brother but shelved the plan saying she was not interested to undertake the journey.  So only 3 people boarded the ill-fated flight that day and all three departed this life in the most tragic way bringing nothing but sorrow and misery to the family.

Following the calamity Prakash Bolar and daughter Pooja along with Ashitha’s sisters have flown to Mangalore to claim the body and perform the last rites.  There seems to be some trouble in identifying the bodies which were charred beyond recognition.

While we normally find it difficult to accept the loss of even one member of the family one can imagine the fate of the family members such as the Bolars who have to bear the loss and grief of losing multiple members in a fraction of few seconds.  One only hopes the grief stricken families have the courage and resilience to accept the stark reality and get on with life.

Really i can't forget Mrs.Ashita's generous support for contribution towards the "Lohitaksha's case in Saudi Arabia", on 21st May2010.She insisted me collect cash before travel day,due to busy office schedule i requested Mr.Shashikant Kannangi to collect cash at Al Falah Plaza-Shj.

She was one of first to contribute in my list and also she expressed her mothers blessing for contribution as Lucky for all, unfortunately she is unlucky lost herself ,son and mothers life in tragic Air crash.
Praying the lord to give her family the courage to bear the loss of the beloved family members
