Mumbai, Jul 18: “The need of the hour is to impart education that embodies Indian culture and tradition to students who can become worthy citizens of our country”, said Vedamurti Pernankila Haridas Bhat, chief priest, Ambika Adinatheshwar Mahaganapati Temple, Vidhya Vihar, on Sunday July 18.
He was speaking after inaugurating the programme for distribution of scholarships which was held at the temple on Sunday. It was organized by metro-based Bhandary Seva Samiti.
Bunts Sangh former president Merkala Thyampanna Shetty, renowned social worker Polya Umesh Shetty, Devadiga Sangh past president Dharmapal U Devadiga, senior Kannada lecturer Dr K Sanjeev Shetty, social worker Balkunjeguttu Gopal Shetty, BJP leader L V Amin, women’s wing vice-president Lalitha Bhandary, Bhandary community leaders Sanjeev Bhandary Chira Bazaar, Bhujang Bhandary and Shekar Bhandary Thane, as well as Bhandary Seva Samiti advisory committee president lawyer Sundar G Bhandary were present on the dais.
Samiti president Balakrishna Bhandary presided over the programme.
Joint secretaries Vijay Bhandary, joint treasurers Ramesh Bhandary and Prabhakar Bhandary, lawyer Shekar Bhandary, Venkatesh Bhandary, as well as advisory committee members Vishwanath Bhandary and Jaya Bhandary were present on the occasion.
The Samiti chief secretary lawyer R M Bhandary welcomed the gathering. Padmanabha Sasihitlu compered the programme.
