35th Branch of Bharat Co-operative Bank Inaugurated

Mangalore, Sep 14: The 35th branch of Mumbai-based Bharat Co-operative Bank, a multi-state scheduled bank, was inaugurated at Suratkal, on Tuesday September 14.
The Bank’s chairman Vasudev R Kotian inaugurated the branch located in Veenu Complex, Suratkal, on Tuesday morning.
Mumbai-based Billava Jagrati Balaga president and metro’s veteran hotelier Suresh S Poojary and his wife Santhoshi inaugurated the banking operations.

The Bank’s vice-president and Maharastra government prosecutor Rohini J Salian and director Pushpalatha N Salian inaugurated the locker facility.
Kotian, in his inaugural address, said that Bharat Co-operative Bank has been helping young entrepreneurs begin their enterprises and advancing loans to ordinary people to realize their dreams of financial security.
“Globalization in the banking sphere of our country has innovated banking facilities due to stiff competition among the banks, while the co-operative banks were better placed to help ordinary customers by offering banking facilities at low cost”, he said.
“The Bank has been striving to improve customer service as per the directives of RBI and maintain equilibrium in this regard. It has been well patronized by Tulu–Kannadigas both in Mumbai and other parts of India”, added Kotian.
He emphasized the ambition of achieving a top rank among the co-operative banks in the country. He said that efforts are also underway to bolster customer service among ordinary customers.
Rohini Salian said that the Bank has been engaged in providing loans and advances for higher education, homes, and setting up enterprises both in cities and rural areas. “The customer’s loyalty is significant for the Bank’s progress”, she said.
Purohit Vidwan K Sadashiv Shanthi performed ‘Satyanarayana Puja’, ‘Vastu Puja’, and other Vedic rituals on the occasion.
The Bank’s directors L V Amin, Raja V Salian, Jyothi K Suvarna, M B Sanil, Y Nagesh, Mohan G Poojary, Chandrashekar S Poojary, Shanker D Poojary, Jagannath V Kotian, S K Kotian, N Nithyanand, Bhaskar M Salian, Ratan U Sanil, Rohit M Suvarna, and CEO B K Amin were present on the occasion.
Mayor Rajani Dugganna, Udupi town councilor Kiran Kumar, Congress youth leader Harikrishna Bantwal, Mumbai’s labour union leader Felix A Taccode, entrepreneurs Katipalla Sadhoo Poojary, Vinod Sherlekar, Arun Mendis, Rohidas Bangera, Rony Fernandes Suratkal, Srinivas Karikera and well-wishers as well as new customers were present.
The Bank’s assistant general managers Shobha Dayanand and Nithyanand Kotian, as well as senior manager Nithyanand S Kirodiyan, were also present.
Suratkal new branch manager Sudhir S Hattangady welcomed the gathering. Assistant general manager Nithyanand D Kotian and Mangalore branch manager Raghav Poojary honoured the guests. Udupi branch manager Balakrishna S Karkera proposed the vote of thanks.
A large number of customers with their chosen numbers queued up at the new branch to open their bank accounts. Nearly Rs 1 crore of business was transacted in just five hours of opening the branch.
