Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School conducts staff orientation programme

Mangaluru, Nov 2: The post pandemic has been a challenge to carry forward the normal schooling to the children. A great amount of effort lies in the hands of the educators to bring out the best in students. The school needs to provide support and facilitate it to both students and educators.

St Agnes CBSE School conducted a staff orientation programme on October 29 at Block II Hall.

The speaker of the day was Fr Dixson Lawrence D’Souza SVD, assistant director of Divya Dham Retreat Centre Odisha. The dignitaries were Sr Edna Furtado AC, school administrator, Sr Maria Gracilda AC, principal, Sr Marina D’Cunha, vice principal, Sr Sweedal Fernandes, academic coordinator and staff.

The session began with a prayer song on ‘Lord I come to you’ followed by formal welcome by principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC. On her opening statement a motivational video on life and happiness was shown with presenting the achievements and credentials of the speaker. His gracious presence was welcomed with a potted plant by Sr Edna Furtado AC.

Addressing the gathering in a humorous way Fr Dixson enthralled the audience with wonderful words of wisdom. Briefing on various aspects from life a brief recap that is the life a few years ago and now the changes that has happened, at the present day what are we giving importance in life was briefed bringing back the reality of What is Life?

The best example of different lines on different types of roads was put forth and the road that we need to choose in the journey of life needs divine assistance was highlighted.

The present complexity in life such as competition, seeking after perfection, lack of humility and leading to no growth was reminded.

An important aspect was put forth as educators we need to create our own brand. The 8 things that a teacher needs the most: Balance, Devine Prospective, Sense of priority, Belonging, Collaboration, Vision, Humility and Pedagogical Knowledge.

A very fruitful session was brought to a closure with enchanting prayer by Fr Dixson.

Teacher Sonia proposed vote of thanks with thanking father on giving a deep insight of life and the reality today. A well-coordinated programme by the teachers of grade I and II creating an ambiance adding colours to the mesmerising session. The programme ended with serving refreshments.
