Bangalore : Film Chamber Slaps one-year Ban on Ramya

Bangalore, Mar 23 (DHNS) : Actor Ramya, who found herself embroiled in a controversy after announcing her decision to quit the film industry following a rift with producer A Ganesh, has now been banned from Kannada movies for a year.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), including the Directors’ and Producers’ Associations has decided not to approach the actor for any movie for the next one year.

KFCC president Basant Kumar Patil told that since the actor had made baseless allegations against filmmakers, the chamber has decided not to work with her.

“Ramya had made complaints against some renowned filmmakers, including S V Rajendra Singh Babu. These baseless allegations have tarnished their images,” he alleged.

Patil said veteran actor Ambarish who had become a “troubleshooter” lately, was unaware of the real issue. The issue related to Ganesh’s financial transactions with Ramya could have been sorted out mutually.

Instead, the actor dragged the issue to the public through the media, he said. She could have filed a case against Ganesh if she had all proofs to justify her claims, Patil added.

Producers’ Association president KCN Chandru said the producers, too, have decided not to cooperate with Ramya in future.  Reacting to the development, Ramya said since she has already decided to quit the industry, this ban does not make any difference.  The actor also said she will accept any decision taken by Ambarish.

When contacted, Ambarish said: “I have acted in 192 films. If we were to complain like this, all producers will face the ire. Surely, producers need to treat the artistes with love and shun their egos.”

The row

The whole controversy cropped up when Ramya went public after a spat with  Ganesh, producer of Dandam Dashagunam, who had not repaid Rs 3.7 lakh out of the Rs 10 lakh he had borrowed from the actor.

It is learnt that Ganesh had sent the remaining amount to Ramya through another producer Munirathna. But Ramya is said to have insisted that Ganesh himself should handover the money.

Shame on these dadagiri, shameless, and ruthless, producers who have been sucessful in their unethical behavior amongst budding actors and actress. They black mail and eat their hard earned money. They are drunkards and womanisers. God will not bless these devils.

At the outset this shows how film industry runs by DADAGIRI. Ramya helped financially to producer Ganesh to finsh the film. In return
having sufficient evidence for demanding what she lent, the film industry recognised her humanity and put a ban for a year.

Ramya is my favorite actress I am very much fond of her. We are all with her all Film actor’s n actress should call upon a strike and shall abstain from shooting until ban on Ramya is lifted. Producer Ganesh must return her money and say sorry for the inconvenience caused to her. Else, Public must stop watching Producer Ganesh films. Action taken by Film chamber is biased and no way does justice with Ramya. Ramya has not done any mistake, claiming her money is not a mistake at all, it’s her right. Some call her too much proud, off course she should be proud, she has the beauty and talent we too are proud of her.

clear case of gender based harassment. she is the one of the few stars who can give a decent opening. with kannada film industry churning out films like a darshini hotel, its going the bollywood way, where films with 20 - 30 crores budget don't run even for the weekend. grow uo guys. make movies with content.
