"Shramadana" is a good word in itself. When Shramadana is made applicable for a clean, green and modern city, the word will bear its potential value and meaning. This is a step in the right direction for Mangalore because we already have a green environment blessed within and outside the city limits. With the help of clean shoreline added with our river fronts and landscapes of coconut plantation, paddy fields, hilly surroundings and many other beautiful spots the "shramadana" movement for a cleaner and greener environment for Mangalore will be quite easy.

Our garbage collection needs further review. Our roadside littering needs a cautious approach. Our fish market from the Nehru Maidan need be shifted elsewhere. Our meat markets need a better appearance. Our roadside vendors need identified locations.

Lastly, our appointed leaders assigned for each location should be named as "Ambassadors" (or whatever suitable name in Kannada)
in order to motivate them and be recognized wherever they are and whoever they are. Thank you, Mr. Mayor, and the City Councillors for your timely decision. Remember, your good work and noble work will always be cherished with a grateful heart.
