Mumbai, Apr 4: Under the aegis of the Bombay South Kanara Brahmin Association (BSKBA) and Gopalakrishna Public Trust, various religious rites including ‘pujas’ were held at Gokul Temple, Sion (East), on Sunday April 3. Gokul Temple priest Hari Bhat performed the puja on the occasion.
Swami Vishveshateerta of Pejavar Mutt, Udupi, and Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta of Subramanya Mutt held a religious discourse during the celebrations.
Swami Viveshveshateerta, in his message to the devotees, said that life itself is a sacrifice. “The religious celebrations that cleanse sins and evils can bring global peace. Divine ‘Mantras’ have the power to alleviate misfortune and cleanse the minds and souls of devotees,” he added.
Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta said that religious celebrations evoke spiritual awakening among the devotees.
BSKBA president Suresh S Rao Kateel, honorary secretary A P K Poti, Gopalakrishna Public Trust secretary Dr P G Rao, honorary secretary H B L Rao, MLA K Jagannath Shetty, entrepreneurs P Dhananjay Shetty and Modern K Balakrishna Shetty, and B S Rao were present on the occasion.
Suresh S Rao welcomed while H B L Rao compered the programme.
