Mangaluru: Veteran legislator, administrator receives KCA Manik Lifetime Achievement Award

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 17: In a unique agenda, the events after the KCA AGM were planned to be lucrative for the members to attend despite the inclement weather on Sunday, September 11 at Konkan Samudhai Bhavan. The AGM was followed by the presentation of the Manik Lifetime Achievement Award, intended for individuals of our Mangalorean community who are successfully accomplished in the field of education, healthcare, music and fine arts, literature, social service, entrepreneurship, public service, philanthropy, and sustainability, and who have had a significant impact on a large number of individual organizations.

While it was certainly an incredible task for the judging committee, the newly elected KCA president, Adrian D’Souza’s announcement to confer the prestigious award to the highly accomplished and multifaceted, Robinson D’Souza received thunderous applause from the gathered members.

A legal consultant, motivational speaker and advisor, Robinson is known to relate to the law of the land coupled with real life experiences that empower professionals. With over 40 years’ experience in the Civil Services, he is one of the few persons in India who have served in all three Institutions under the Constitution viz. Judiciary, Executive and Legislature. His comprehensive knowledge, experience and eminent track record in leadership has ranked him an administrator par excellence.

Beyond qualifications and achievements, Adrian shone light upon some very heartening memories that make Robinson stand out as a human being of high integrity, ethical bias and compassion for fellow beings without discrimination.

With his combination of intelligence, empathy, moral compass and a desire to be a service, it makes us very proud indeed to not only claim Robinson as a fine gem of our Mangalurean community, but also makes him so profoundly deserving of the Manik Lifetime Achievement Award as an exemplar of values and dedication. It is only fitting that he was honoured in traditional form with a shawl and a Mysore Peta by KCA Past President Hilma Roach and Adrian D’Souza amid much acclamation.

Beyond the AGM and the Award Ceremony, members were pleasantly kept abreast of the ongoing cricket fever with the live streaming of the Asian Cup Finals. The evening tempo was further bolstered with live music by the 420’s who entertained the audience and had members tapping their toes and shaking a leg – or both!

The organizers thanked the snacks and dinner catered by Noah Caterers and the professionalism of the Radisson Blu, Marathahalli staff and servers who ensured efficient service throughout the evening. Due credit also to the Manager, Rilson and staff of KWT for maintaining impeccable housekeeping during the event.

All in all, the fellowship post the AGM celebrated warmth and gaiety. The members had a relaxed evening to cherish. The organizers expressed gratitude to the members, the president and committee members – past and present – for their support in making the evening a resounding success.
