Mangaluru: MCC Bank, Ullal branch holds customer meet

Ullal, Sep 18: On the occasion of the post centenary decennial celebration of the bank, customer meet of MCC bank Ltd, Ullal branch, was organized at Sea Shell, 5th Floor, R E B complex, Thokkottu on Sunday, September 18.

The meet was presided over by the chairman of the MCC Bank, Anil Lobo.

The meet was inaugurated by Fr Antony Lasrado, parish priest of Nithyadaar Church. Fr Cyprian Pinto, parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Permannur was the chief guest of day, Stany D'Souza, LIC advisor and chairman’s club member, Dayananda Puthran, enterpreneur and owner of Yamuna Boat, K Ummer Farid, Mahazzin and Co-Imam Masjid Ul Huda, Juma Masjid, Ullal were the guests of honour. 

Fr Antony Lasrado, inaugurated the customer meet by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural speech, he said that the light is the symbol of peace and prosperity and MCC bank has been the guiding light to the customers and helping them in meeting their financial needs for the past 110 years. He appreciated the systematic manner in which the bank is functioning and the good progress made over the years. During his speech he gave the example of a farmer who has prospered by getting credit facility from the bank, when all other banks rejected his loan application. He wished that the bank would continue with the good work and help the people to fulfil their aspirations. He said as a customer he had very good experience with the bank. He appreciated and thanked the staff of Ullal branch led by Jacintha Fernandes for their quick response and excellent service.

Chairman Anil Lobo, in his presidential speech, told the gathering, “The Bank is conducting the customer meet in all the branches on the occasion of the post centenary decennial celebration of the bank in order understand the expectations of the customers from the bank, obtain their feedback and make sincere efforts to redress their grievances, if any. The customer meets organized at the branches have received good response and appreciation from the customers of the bank.

The bank has earned a record net profit of Rs.8.27 crore with a net NPA of 1.60 %.” He expressed his happiness at the business growth of Ullal branch and requested the customers to be the brand ambassadors of the bank and to give opportunity to serve them with greater vigour and zeal. He also requested the gathering to give word of mouth publicity to the bank and help the bank to grow further. He said that the bank is offering free digital banking services like mobile banking, ATM etc., and also offering education loans and jewel loans with very low rates of interest. He requested the customers to avail the locker facility with low rent offered by the bank. He congratulated the branch manager and staff members for taking initiative and success of the customer meet.

Fr Cyprian Pinto, congratulated and thanked the chairman for his leadership and for arranging the customer meet, where customers have gathered in large numbers. He said that the Bank should organize such meetings every year. He wished all the best for the future plans and endeavours of the bank.

Stany D'Souza, in his speech, said that MCC bank which started before independence has been the pride of the people in the coastal districts of the state and managed to survive competition because of the quality service it rendered over the years. He opined that the borrowers should avail the loans depending upon their capacity to repay the loan. He also expressed his happiness to be the customer of the bank for the past 30 years. He appreciated the leadership and the selfless service of the chairman which were responsible for the progress of the bank. He appreciated the customer friendly service of the Staff of Ullal branch led by Jacintha Fernandes. He also appreciated the chairman’s effort in retaining the customers.

On this occasion, the customers who celebrate their birthdays in the month of September were honoured. The senior citizen customers were congratulated and honoured with shawl and flower bouquet. Children of the customers who have excelled in their academic and professional studies were honoured.

As a part of customer meet, open session was held to get the suggestions, opinions and to share their grievances. The customers actively took part in this interactive session and gave their valuable suggestions for the growth of the bank.

Directors Harold Monteiro, David D'Souza, Anil Patrao, Sushanth Saldanha, board of management members, Felix D'Cruz, Sharmila Menezes, Alwyn Prashanth Monteiro, dy general manager Raj F Menezes, Fr Jayaprakash, parish prirest of Ranipura church among others were present.

General manager Sunil Menezes explained the importance of the customer meet. Ullal branch Support director Roshan Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Branch manager Jacintha Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Raviraj D'Souza compered the programme.

Employees of Ullal branch, Agnes Violet D'Souza, Sujith D'Souza, Naveen Crasta, Dolphy D'Souza were actively associated in holding the meet. More than 200 customers of the branch actively participated in the customer meet.
