Puttur: Absconding cheque bounce case accused arrested

Puttur, Sep 19: Police arrested a man who was absconding after his cheque given to the finance company, from whom he had bought vehicle on loan, got bounced.

Hasanabba, resident of Mangaluru took loan from Sriram transport finance company of the town in order to buy a vehicle. Later, he provided cheque for Rs 5.75 lac as repayment of the loan. But the cheque got bounced and the company filed a private complaint in the court.

The court which held inquiry found Hasanabba guilty and asked him to pay Rs 5.75 lac to the company or undergo six months of simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the money. Though the accused could have gone for higher appeal, he was absconding since then.

As the date for higher appeal was over, police arrested the accused at Farangipet and produced him to the court. The court has sent him to judicial custody.
