Mangaluru: Grand Dasara celebration at Kudroli from Sep 26 to Oct 6

Mangaluru, Sep 19: B Janardhan Poojary, instrumental in developing Kudroli temple said that Dasara festival will be celebrated at Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple from September 26 to October 6.

Poojary spoke to the scribes on Sunday in this regard. He further said, “More than 10 lac people from various districts of the state are expected to arrive to the city for Mangaluru Dasara and preparations are on for the same. Everyday food will be served along with the religious rituals. It is decided to hold Chandika Yaga in the glass house for the convenience of the devotees.

“Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai will be invited to inaugurate the Dasara festivities. The timing of inauguration will depend on the CMs availability. I will go in person and invite him,” he said.

Padmaraj R, treasurer of the temple, said, “Silver pedestal weighing 12 kg for Sharada goddess of Managaluru Dasara is being made at a cost of Rs 12 lac as the service of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Seva dal and devotees. It will be offered on September 24. One devotee will offer Veena. Some changes are done in the procession for the convenience of devotees.”
