Puttur: MCC Bank Branch holds customer meet

Puttur, Sep 19: On the occasion of the Post Centenary Decennial celebration of the bank, customer meet of MCC Bank Ltd, Puttur Branch, was organized at Christopher Banquet Hall, Puttur on Sunday, September 18.

The meet was presided over by the chairman of the MCC Bank, Anil Lobo.

The customer meet started with the Prayer. The meet was inaugurated by Fr Stany Pinto, campus director of St Philomena College Puttur, Dr M K Prasad Bhandary, Adarsh hospital Puttur, John Cutinha, businessmen and president Chamber of Commerce Puttur were the guests of honour.

Fr Stany Pinto, inaugurated the meet by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural speech said that Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are known as the cradle of banking as many banks have taken birth from these two districts. Further, he said that banking is a business where there are many hurdles coming across in the day to day business and it is glad that MCC bank has crossed all the hurdles and achieved success by gaining the trust of customers over the last 110 years of its existence. He appreciated the Bank for being a part of various social welfare programmes along with the banking business. He further said that customers trust is the foundation for the Bank’s progress and wished the trust of customers to continue for the Bank to scale greater heights in the years to come. Fr Stany Pinto thanked the Bank for honouring him and wished the management good luck for the future endeavours of the bank.

Chairman Anil Lobo, in his presidential speech told the gathering that the Bank is conducting the customer meet in all the branches on the occasion of the post Centenary Decennial celebration of the bank in order understand the expectations of the customers from the Bank, obtain their feedback and make sincere efforts to redress their grievances, if any. Bank has earned a record net profit of Rs. 8.27 crore with a net NPA of 1.60 percent during the last FY. The total business of the Bank which was Rs 500 Crore in 2018 has crossed Rs 860 crores in 2022 and attributed this progress to the customers and the staff members. Bank has been providing training to the staff members for improving the customer service at the branches. Bank believes in implementing customer centric policies and transparency in its operations."

He expressed his happiness that the vision and the goal set by the new board have been achieved mainly due to the support of all the customers of the Bank and the good efforts of the staff. He assured the customers about the strength of the Bank which is strictly following the guidelines issued by the regulators, withstood the challenges over the last 110 years and would continue to do business on sound banking principles in future also. He asked the customers to avail the credit facilities like education loans and Jewel loans offered by the bank at very low interest. The Bank is offering 5 percent interest on Vidya Bhavishya Saving Account meant for the students. He also requested the customers to avail the locker facility with low rent offered by the Bank. He congratulated the branch manager and staff members for taking initiative and success of the customer meet.

Dr M K Prasad Bhandary, in his speech expressed happiness for being a part of the customer meet. He said that discipline plays a very important role in everyone’s life and he was fortunate to learn discipline from catholic institutions where he had his education.

John Cutinha, in his speech thanked the management for undertaking various developmental activities for the past four years. He appreciated the excellent customer service rendered by the Bank branch whenever the customer visits the bank. He insisted the customers to share their good experiences with others and they should also know their role in the development of the bank. He also thanked the manager and staff of the Puttur branch for serving the customers with smile.

On this occasion, the bank honoured Fr Stany Pinto for securing first rank in M A in Education, Dr M K Prasad Bhandary for being the best doctor in Puttur.

The customers who celebrate their birthdays in the month of September were honoured. The senior citizen customers were congratulated and honoured with shawl and flower bouquet.

As a part of customer meet, open session was held to facilitate the customers to come out with their suggestions, feedback and to share their grievances. The customers actively took part in this interactive session and gave their valuable suggestions for the growth of the Bank.

Vice chairman Jerald Jude Dsilva, directors Herald Monteiro, Anil Patrao, Andrew Dsouza, board of management members, Felix DCruz, Alwyn Prashanth Monteiro, Dy general manager Raj F Menezes among others were present.

General manager Sunil Menezes explained the importance of the customer meet. Puttur Branch support director J P Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Branch manager Sharun Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Prakash Sequeira compered the programme.

Employees of Puttur branch Gladys Crasta, Flavian Dsouza and Vinil Veigas were actively associated in organising the meet. More than 200 customers of the branch actively participated in the customer meet.
