Mangaluru: ICYM Neermarga unit visits Sneha Sadan

Mangaluru, Sep 20: Under the dynamic leadership of Fr Anil D Mello, parish priest, ICYM Neermarga unit visited Sneha Sadan Charitable Trust at Gurpur Kaikamba in the outskirts of Mangaluru on September 18.

The youth felt a sense of harmony and calmness prevail over them asthey walked through the gates of the orphanage. Everything seem quiet and they were welcomed by Fr Teja, director of the Ashram who takes great pride in working and helping the kids at Home. A programme was presented to the inmates of Sneha Sadan that began with a prayer song.

The inmates were divided into groups - Black, Orange, Blue, Purple.Various games – Conversation Circle, Gauge Your Strength, Tongue Twisters, Newspaper Mummy, Ducks Fly were lined up and the children and youth participated energetically followed by Sing-a-ling and Mass Dance that captivated the children wherein the moves were fairly straightforward and they were able to pick it up in no time. Gifts in cash and kind collected from the parishioners were also distributed. In the group competitions, Team Black emerged victorious, Teams Orange and Blue bagged the second and third prize respectively and team Purple won the consolation prize. The youth then spent time talking and sharing their thoughts with 40 little angels and also arranged sumptuous meals for them.

The youth left the orphanage with a heavy heart. It was a learning experience for the young citizens and it also inculcated the values of empathy and compassion in them.
