Udupi, Sep 23: Case is filed on 11 PFI activists, who blocked the road in city on Thursday, condemning NIA raid on their offices in Dakshina Kannada, as they did not seek any prior permission to stage protest.

The activists of PFI protested near Diana Circle in the busy city road and blocked the traffic causing inconvenience to public as well as motorists. In addition, the police had to resort to lathi charge in order to disperse the activists.

Sadiq Ahmed (40), Afroz K (39), Ilyas Saheb (46), Irshad (37), Fayaz Ahmed (39), Mohammed Ashraf (43), A Haroon Rashid, Mohammed Juraiz (42), Ishaq Kidwai (30), Shaukat Ali (31) and Mohammed Zahid (24) are taken into custody in this connection.

A case under column 143, 147, 290 and 149 of IPC is registered on the offenders in city police station.
