Udupi: Death of pedestrian – Car driver sentenced to 2.5 years imprisonment

Udupi, Sep 24: A car driver who caused the death of pedestrian due to negligent driving was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and fined Rs 10000.

On March 17, 2019, Mohammed Tahir was driving his car at high speed near Badanidiyoor Sanyasi Math and hit pedestrial Carmin Danti, who died due to the impact.

A case in this connection was filed at Malpe police station and charge sheet was submitted to court. Justice Shyamprakash of first additional CJ and JMFC court, who conducted the inquiry declared Tahir as guilty and pronounced the verdict. Public prosecutor Mohini K argued in favour of the government.
