Kundapur: Rathotsava celebrated at Kollur Mookambika temple

Kundapur, Oct 4: The Rathotsava (chariot festival) was celebrated at Kollur Mookambika temple as part of Sharannavaratri in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 4.

Various poojas and rituals were held from the day of Navaratri till the Mahanavami. The idol of the Devi was kept on the decorated chariot taken on procession from the temple.

Thousands of people pulled the chariot taking three rounds in the temple premises.

Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, former MLA K Gopala Poojary, deputy commissioner Kurma Rao, temple management committee president Chandrashekar Shetty Keradi, management committee members, former trustees and religious leaders were present.

Thousands of devotees flocked the temple. Sufficient security was arranged. The rituals on Wednesday are scheduled to begin at 3 am. Vijayotsava will be held in the evening.
