Kasargod: Heroin worth Rs 1,200 crore seized – Six Iranian nationals arrested

Kasargod, Oct 8: In a joint operation conducted by Indian Navy and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at the coast line of Cochin on Friday, Heroin of Afghanistan origin worth Rs 1,200 crore was confiscated. Six Iranian nationals are arrested in this regard.

Giving details of the operation, Sanjay Kumar Singh, deputy director general of NCB maintenance division said, “The confiscated Heroin and the arrested are brought to Mattancherry office. The narcotic was packed in 200 packets and kept in mechanized boat. These packets were in special form of packaging that is usually followed by smugglers of Pakistan and Afghanistan origin.”
