Piyush Jha's Next Film a Political Thriller

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS): Director Piyush Jha of "Sikander" and "Chalo America" fame is set to start his next project - a political action-thriller.

It's a reality-based story, which he is planning to portray in Bollywood's larger than life style and he is in talks with some leading actors to play the lead roles, said a source close to Jha.

The source added that in spite of being very excited about the project, Jha is very tight-lipped on giving away details about the film until he finalises his lead cast.

"Piyush is reluctant to divulge too many details except for the fact that it is a contemporary Indian story that connects the dots between the urban metros and the heartland. Corporate studios have shown interest in the project but the director first wants to finalise the main leads before making an announcement," said the source.

Meanwhile, Jha, in a a statement, said: "The film is a view with thoughts put up by valiant, heroic grassroots people. Like my earlier films 'Sikandar', 'King of Bollywood' and 'Chalo America', this one too taps into the popular dilemmas of our country."

"It intends to leverage the robust action-adventure genre to do the soul searching so essential to a society in transition, a society that desperately needs new heroes."
