Police stalls Ram Gopal Varma’s Movie Shoot, NGO Fears Violence

Hyderabd,May 25 (DC): The police commissioner, Amit Garg, on Wednesday issued orders halting the shooting of Ram Gopal Varma’s movie Bezawada Rowdilu. Garg took the decision following a representation submitted by an NGO, Sarvodaya Mandali, which is an association of lawyers. The NGO had asked the commissioner to cancel the shooting as it could provoke violence in the city.

The movie’s shooting had started on May 16 and it was scheduled to conclude on May 27. The film unit had shot several violent scenes in Vijayawada and the NGO had raised objections saying that violent scenes should be shot on sets and not on the streets of the city. Garg has asked the producers to submit the script for sanction of permission to shoot the second schedule. “If the script does not break any laws, the permission will be granted for the second schedule,” he said.
