Puttur, Jun 6: The protest by Bajrang Dal in Puttur bus stand to condemn Ramdev Baba’s detention, countered oppose from town station sub-inspector.

The road was blocked by Bajrang Dal activists. But SI Ravikumar claimed that the protestors had not taken permission to hold ‘rasta roko’. He then allegedly forced agitators move to the side of the road, and helped streamline the traffic. This led to heated debate between the SI and Bajrang Dal district convenor Dinesh Kumar Jain, which culminated in a scuffle, it is learnt.

Further, SI also warned Jain that he might have to be arrested, which irked Jain's supporters. Soon slogans were shouted against the behaviour of the SI and situation went out of control as well as chaotic creating traffic disruption.

With the intervention of Puttur traffic SI Nagesh Kadri there was a compromise between the partied and situation came under control.

Town municipality vice-president Vinay Bhandary, Bajrang Dal district vice-convenor Madhava Poojary, Devdas and Rajesh among others were present at the protest.
