Mangalore, Jun 6: Ramanand Rai, a retired circle inspector died of a brief illness on Sunday June 5 at his residence in Capitanio here. He was 67.

He was the brother of Sullia advocate Jayaprakash Rai, Sudhakar Rai of BEML, Mysore, Savanur Seetaram Rai of Vidyarashmi group of educational institutions, Sharada A J Shetty and Shakuntala Chowta. His father was Shintur Narayana Rai, a teacher.

He leaves behind his wife Shambhavi, two daughters and a son.

He had rendered his services in various capacities at different places including Bantwal, Chikmaglur, Udupi, Sringeri, besides Panambur and Pandeshwar.
