Mangalore: Tempo-Rickshaw Accident Near Town Hall - Pedestrian, Driver Hurt

Mangalore, Jun 7: A speeding tempo hit a pedestrian and went on to collide with two auto rickshaws after losing control, near Town Hall here on Tuesday June 7 at around 6.15 pm.

The injured is Vishwas (40), who has been admitted to Wenlock hospital. Another rickshaw was also damaged.

The tempo first hit Vishwas and then hit the rickshaw crushing it completely. Rickshaw driver Farooq’s leg is fractured and he too has been admitted in Wenlock hospital. Both the injured are in the ICU unit.
 
The tempo driver’s name is Narayana. A case in this regard is yet to be filed. Passersby gathered at the scene. The mangled remains of the rickshaw was removed with the help of another vehicle.

    Very sad incident. Last week when i was travelling towards puttur there was an major accident near kaladka between bus and jeep. So our bus got struck for about an hour until everything gets cleared. During that time i spoke to one of the mangalorean based KSRTC bus driver. He was of opinion that he has worked in KSRTC bus in most of the places of Karnataka, but he is finding more difficult to drive buses in our districts as the people from our districts never follow the traffic rules properly. They think as if it's their own personal roads

    Whenever we see any incidents like accidents or other things happening in mangalore we get to see lot of people standing there as if they are watching a cinema. its good to see people helping but unnecessary crowd creates more chaos and confusion for police as well as emergency services. when will people understand?
