Udupi, Jun 8: "Allegations are being levelled against me by politicians that I have been partial in not supporting the anti-corruption movement in the state and only oppose the corruption in the union administration. This is not true. I am not restricted to opposing corruption by a few individuals but am against corruption in Karnataka and other states including the union government," said Vishveshateertha Swami of Pejavar Mutt.

Addressing media persons on Wednesday June 8, Swami Vishveshateertha further said that he does not support any political party and treats all party leaders fairly. He said that he has been engaged in religious and social activities and would join in the struggle to protect Hinduism, environment, against untouchability, against corruption and social evils by distancing himself from politics.

"I urge the union government to take early measures to put an end to corruption in the country. I am not authorised to decide corruption cases. In a democratic country, the party high commands, Lokayukta, and courts had to decide. I urge them to take early action," he added.

The protest by Baba Ramdev was apolitical with the participation of religious leaders of all religions. "I had participated in a day’s protest to express moral support. A few politicians have issued derogatory statements in this regard. I will extend support for apolitical struggle at all times," stressed Swami Vishveshateertha.
