Mangalore, Jun 9: Marcel M D’Souza has been elected as president of newly-formed Milagres Alumni Association, Mangalore (MAAM) for the term 2011 – 13.

Milagres parish priest and correspondent Fr Walter D’Mello and Milagres Pre-University College principal Fr Lawrence D’Souza are ex-officio members.

Dr Krishna Prasad and Deepak D’Souza (vice-presidents), Dr Rajesh D’Souza (secretary), Dawn Aditya Prakash (joint secretary), Vijaya K S (treasurer) are the other elected. In all 15 alumni and 6 members from the teaching faculty have been elected executive committee members.

The formal inauguration of MAAM was held on May 30, when the college reopened for the academic year.

Speaking on the occasion, Marcel M D’Souza said that the former students of the institution have a responsibility to pay back to the institution which has educated them and helped place themselves in good positions in the society.
