Kasargod: Quirk of Fate – Son Follows Father in Death

Kasargod, Jun 11: A person, who was engaged in performing the post-funeral rites of his father, died after falling into a well accidentally. The incident occurred at Bayar near Uppal in the district.

The ill-fated person has been identified as Sadashiva (42), son of the late Chaniya Moolya, resident of Cheral Pookare near Uppal. Sadashiva was participating in religious rites connected with the recent death of his father. On Thursday night, a programme was organized at his home, and he was required to draw water from the well near his home. While drawing water from the well that does not have any protective wall, Sadashiva slipped and fell into it. Although the fire personnel were summoned, he had lost his life before his body could be brought out.

It is gathered that Sadashiva’s brother, Narayan, had died about four months back. The family witnessed the death of its third member in the last four months on Thursday. Krishna, younger brother of Sadashiva, is bedridden on account of ill health.
