Mangalore, Jun 12: The Ullal bridge will be fully opened for traffic from Monday June 13 as the repair works following the collapse of embankment at the junction wherein the national highway 17 near Adamkudru, Kallapu and road leading to bridge across Netravati meets on Friday last is complete.

Due to collapse of embankment, the traffic had been made one-way for past two days and will continue on Sunday as well. Moreover, the road will also be concreted, informed the technical officers of Navayug Constructions.

The officers further said that the repair works have been carried out continuously since Friday and that for the foundation of collapsed road about 350 tonnes of concrete mix has been used to raise it to the height of about nine metres. Moreover, on Saturday mud was laid on the concrete mix. The construction works of two pillars of the bridge will be stopped and be resumed only after rainy season.

On Saturday the movement of heavy vehicles were banned pn the bridge and they had to take a detour through K C Road, Natekal, Mudipu and Melkar.
