After lightning struck Manipal police station on Sunday evening, electronic equipments suffered damages. Asphalted stretch of the newly erected minor bridge at Brahmarakootlu Ramalkatte on national highway between city and Bantwal developed cracks, after mud heaped on one side of the road suffered landslide. The minor bridge was built over a road leading to Tumbe vented dam. It is reasoned that the authorities, who had heaped mud to raise the height, failed to properly set the mud into a slope and reinforce it with the help of stones.
