Mangalore: Former DC Declines to Participate in Farewell Function

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Jun 13: Perhaps peeved the untimely and unceremonial transfer from his position as the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Subodh Yadav has declined offers to organize a send-off function on his transfer to Bangalore. He has opted not to accept the official farewell function the district administration usually extends for the outgoing officers.

Yadav’s predecessor, Ponnuraj, had gained popularity in the district because of the importance he gave to the development of the district. It may be mentioned here that Bharat Lal Meena, who had worked as the deputy commissioner of the district several years back, continues to be remembered by the people because of the fast-track development initiatives he undertook, and novel methods he employed for speedy execution of decisions.

Subodh Yadav had all the makings of becoming an excellent deputy commissioner. He had acted against sand mafia with an iron hand, and had made sincere efforts to enforce an order of the Supreme Court to remove unauthorized religious structures encroaching upon public places. He had given lot of importance for fast clearance of pending files, besides giving a facelift to the office room of the deputy commissioner and his official bungalow.

He was abruptly transferred on May 13. He thereafter, did not come to office even for handing over charge to the new incumbent. Even after he came back to the city, he refused to participate in the farewell function. He is expected to take over charge as the director in the department of textiles during the next week.

What else can be expected by this corrupt Yeddi government who is hell bent on harassing honest officers. There should be a panel of senior IPS and IAS officers in each state and the government of the state should be able to initiate transfers only upon approval of this panel, or else our stupid politicians ( more so under the corrupt Yeddy Reddy mafia in Karnataka) will completely destroy the administrative structure of the state. Everyone knows who heads the sand mafia in Mangalore.....
