Sullia: Government Acts Against Unauthorised Nursing College

Sullia, Jun 14: A police complaint stands registered against Karnataka Health Education Institute, which runs nursing course at its premises in Gandhinagar area here. It is said that the institution has admitted students to the nursing course being run by it, without obtaining the mandatory licence from Karnataka State Nursing Council.

The council had written to Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner to initiate action against the institution. The deputy commissioner had in turn, directed district health officer, Dr Srirangappa, to take action. As per the instructions of the district health officer, taluk health officer, Dr Subrahmanya, filed a complaint with the local police.

A case under section 420 of the Criminal Procedure Code stands registered against the said institution, which the council has termed as fake.
