Kasargod, Jun 14: Relating to a complaint alleging that a father had pushed his minor daughter to flesh trade, four persons were arrested by Hosadurg police. Sudhir, resident of Paravoor Paniyakkod in Ernakulam, has been accused of forcing his daughter to become a sex worker, for making money.

A case stands registered in this connection at Paravoor police station, which has transferred the same to crime branch. The girl, who was sexually exploited by a number of people, has been admitted into a hospital near Ernakulam for treatment relating to health complications she is suffering from. The policemen said that their investigations have brought to light the fact that Sudhir had taken his daughter to various places including Ooty, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, and Mysore, for handing her over to people involved with sex trade, for earning money.

As the girl’s father always accompanied her, no one had developed any suspicion about the girl. It is said that a few days back, Sudhir had escorted his daughter to a lodge in Munnar and handed her over to a person there. The person, who got angered after finding out that the father of the girl was using his daughter for this activity, slapped Sudhir on the face.

Vijayakumar, Unnikrishnan, Jobi, and Manjob Gopi, who reportedly raped the girl, have been arrested by the police. The policemen have now extended their investigation to Tamil Nadu too.
