Udupi, Jun 15: In an incident which occurred at Kukkehally in the district on Tuesday June 14, a housewife got electrocuted.

Sulatha Karkera (40), wife of Jagannath Salian from Pundugatte Darkas, had switched on the water pump fitted at her home on Tuesday morning. As the pump set failed to work, she went to see what had happened. Without noticing that the wire used as clothesline at the courtyard had fallen to the ground at the spot, she stepped on it. She was electrocuted instantly.
