Bangalore, Jun 15: Yakshagana is a significant art of Karnataka, while let it be any art to have greater effect on the viewers, every stage of episodes has to be enriched with meaning and moderation in dance.  Meanwhile, it’s through Yakshagana the theatrical messages are being exemplified of Ramayana, Mahabharata and mythological episodes, said B Satyanarayan, retired Information and Broadcasting officer.

Satyanarayan was speaking at the felicitation programme of veterans of Yakshagana held here recently.  It was organized by metro based Yakshagana Trust.

Satyanarayan commended the efforts of Yakshagana Trust that has been actively involved in popularizing Yakshagana in the metro and he was fortunate to felicitate the veterans of Yakshagana, added Satyanarayan.

Sacchidanandamurti, president of Siddi Ganapati temple committee conveyed best wishes for the programme.

H S Gopalakrishnayya, veteran of Yakshagana artiste was felicitated with cash award at the same occasion.

Gopalakrishnayya in acknowledge to the felicitation, said that he was happy to be felicitated in the metro by Yakshagana Trust although he is living in a remote village in Sringeri.

Yakshagana Trust managing trustee Veena Mohan in her introductory address briefed on a decades if service of Yakshagana Trust.

K R Tunga compered the programme.

Kartaveeryarjuna, Yakshagana play was staged by the versatile artistes on the same occasion.
