Mangalore: Four-year-old Girl Drowns at Mulky

Mangalore, Jun 16: A four-year-old girl named Atmika drowned in an overflowing canal at Badagahitlu, Bappanadu near Mulky in the taluk, on Wednesday June 15.

Guruprasad, who happens to be the maternal uncle of Atmika (4) and Krittika (2), had entered the canal to take bath. Both the above children were playing in the flowing water by sitting on the edge of the canal near the spot where he was bathing. Both the children suddenly fell into the water, but Krittika alone could be saved, it is gathered.

Rajesh, father of Atmika, works in a workshop in the city. Atmika was a LKG student of Mulky Narayanaguru English Medium School.

A case was registered by Mulky police. Investigation is on.
