Sullia: Accidental Fire Results in Heavy Loss

Sullia, Jun 16: In an incident that occurred in Karikala village near Subrahmanya in the taluk on Wednesday June 15, a room of a house caught fire accidentally.

After the fire got ignited for unknown reasons, stock of betel nut, and two cupboards in the room were reduced to ashes. Cash and clothes kept in the cupboard too burnt down in the incident, it is learnt.

Owner of the house, Kereyadka Lakshminarayana Gowda, has suffered loss amounting to Rs 15 lac in the incident, it is said. Neighbours succeeded in containing the fire from spreading to other parts of the house.
