Kundapur: Youth Drowns in Chakra River

Kundapur, Jun 17: A person, who was walking by the banks of River Chakra at Katbelthur village in the taluk, suddenly slipped and fell into the river. As the river was overflowing, he could not swim to safety.

The victim has been identified as Uday (37), a resident of Katbelthur village. Because of rain, the banks of the river have extended on both sides. He was washed away due to the force of water, and his body was recovered later.

Hemmady gram panchayat president, Raju Poojary, and member, Ashok Balegar, helped in rescue operation. A case of unnatural death was registered in Gangolli police station.
