Mangalore, Jun 18: Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy (LMCP) celebrated its 14th graduation day and 18th annual day at Hotel Moti Mahal, Falnir here, recently.
Director of curriculum development cell at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore Dr G V Niranjan was chief guest. Dr Uma Shankar Mohanthy, president of Indian Association of Physiotherapists was the guest of honour. A J Shetty, president, Laxmi Memorial Educational Trust (LMET) presided.
The programme began with a graduation parade.
The graduation ceremony witnessed 56 students being awarded bachelor degree in physiotherapy. The outstanding students in academics, sports and cultural events too were awarded with certificates, trophies and cash prizes.
In his presidential address, A J Shetty congratulated the award winners and appreciated the service of students for a qualitative physiotherapy treatment at A J Hospital and Research Centre.
Dr G V Niranjan released the college Magazine ‘SAZZEGGA-2011’ and also spoke on the occasion. Dr Mohanthy too addressed the gathering.
Dr S Arul Dhanaraj, principal, LMCP, presented annual report for the academic year 2010-11.
An attractive cultural programme was presented by the students.
Prashanth Shetty, LMET vice-president, Ashritha P Shetty, director and administrative officer K K Nayak among others were present.
