Mangalore, Jun 19: In a curious incident, a parked lorry moved on its own and plunged into a deep gorge near Pumpwell here on Saturday June 18 evening. Luckily, no one was injured.

The lorry was parked in neutral gear by the side of the road. The driver had stopped for a refreshment and was in a restaurant close by at the time of the accident.

The absence of barriers near the spot have caused much problems, and this is not the first time such an incident is taking place. Not only vehicles, but even people have fallen in, but the authorities are yet to take any action in the matter.

This is nothing but pure negligence by the driver. None for that matter will keep such a heavy truck on neutral gear and walk out for a refreshement. How foolish !!!
